New hobby – BEES!!

There is a local Portland free magazine called Portland Outsider (which is awesome, by the way. it features articles on cooking, endurance fitness, healthy-balancy fitness, meat, cocktails, gardens…everything I adore) and they featured bees in the spring 2014 issue – focusing on bumble bees and what we can do to better understand and support them….

Mid/late spring/April – more wet and cold

The second part of April has been equally rewarding. After so many months of nada, it’s been so wonderful to see all of my things growing and thriving. I hope they are getting strong while we have the rain, so that this summer, when things dry up, they have a good start to staying healthy….

Early spring/April – wet and cool

April has been mostly wet and chilly, with some days of sun. But everything perennial that I planted last year is coming up and looking okay! Ive started planting some things directly in the ground, since as of April 24th we are past the frost date. Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening in my garden….
